When determining whether you meet a state's qualification requirements, consider the state you wish to work and become licensed to practice.
Candidates must meet educational, work experience, and other requirements specific to the state or jurisdiction in which they intend to be licensed to practice. In addition, states generally require the completion of all educational requirements before a candidate is qualified to take the CPA exam.

For first-time applicants, the application process usually takes 4-8 weeks. Re-examination candidates can typically expect a shorter application period.
The process includes submitting forms and transcripts along with fees to the state board or its designee. Review your state's application process now. You can also find information on the National Association of State Board’s of Accountancy (NASBA) as well.

As a general rule, candidates spend 1-3 hours studying outside class, per hour spent in class. Develop a study plan that takes into account all the constraints on your time (work, family, social, etc.) and stick to it.
Choosing the right review course is key to getting maximum return from the time and effort you invest.

Exam dates fill up early. To increase the likelihood that you will receive first choice of date, time and location, you should schedule at least 45 days before the desired test date(s).
After your application is approved, you’ll receive a Notice to Schedule (NTS). You must have the NTS to reserve an actual test date at one of the 300 Prometric Test Centers where the exams are given.

Generally, candidates must sit for their first exam within six months of receiving the NTS, although this can vary by jurisdiction. Exams are scheduled during the first two months of each calendar quarter. You may schedule the exam parts in any order, and one at a time, if you prefer.

On the day of your exam be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. In addition, you must bring your NTS and two forms of identification, one of which has a recent photograph.

This is where your hard work and careful planning pay off. Becker course materials are designed to replicate the actual exam and to prepare you for success on exam day.
Once you pass your first exam, you will have an 18-month window to apply, prepare, schedule and pass all of the other 3 parts.
