Online Requirements 

You will need a few essential items. This guide is a checklist of those items. Just like having a pen and paper for traditional classes, the following items are absolutely essential to your success with online courses. Good luck with your studies!

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or Above to take advantage of the latest technology incorporated in this site, and to minimize the need for additional plug-in downloads, we recommend using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or Above on a PC.

A Screen Resolution of 800 x 600 pixels or greater

If you currently see a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of this page and would like to eliminate this, you can do so by resizing your screen. If you need help with your screen settings, in windows, click on start, then Settings > Control Panel. Next select your display icon and double click to open it. Select the settings tab, then find your screen area slider and set it to 800x600. Click OK, then close your control panel. Your new screen area should now be enabled.

Required Hardware and Software

You will need a few essential items to view the Online Courseware. Just like having a pen and paper for traditional classes, the following Hardware and Software items are required:

First on your checklist is a computer. To take full advantage of the interactivity of the courses, the following system profiles are REQUIRED:

• 56 kbps Modem (DSL or Cable connection recommended)
• Sound Card
• Speakers
• Flash Player
• QuickTime Player

Listed below are the hardware and software requirements and recommendations

Minimum System Requirements

• Windows XP/Vista/7*
• Pentium III 600 MHz processor or faster
• 256 MB RAM or greater (512 MB highly recommended)
• Hard drive with 300 MB or more free space (to copy optional PassMaster files you will need an additional 250 MB of space)
• Video card capable of 1024 x 768 resolution and 16-bit color or more
• A sound card and speakers
• DVD drive
• To print the Performance Summart Report, a Windows compatible printer is required
• Administrative Level access is required to activate and properly install your program
• You must have access to the internet at some point (not necessarily on the computer with the software) to activate the software

Note: these applications have been designed for the Microsoft^® Windows operating system.  Running the application under any other operating system is NOT supported

* Support for Windows 98SE, Windows Millennium Edition (ME), and Windows 2000
Although Windows 98SE/ME operating systems are no longer supported by Microsoft, the Becker applications normally run successfully under these operating systems.  However, we will not be able to provide support for running the software under Windows 98, Windows ME or Windows 2000.
