Capital and Related Financing Activities

For governmental organizations, a statement of cash flows has four types of activities, instead of the three categories in commercial organizations. The normal financing activities are divided into capital and related financing activities and noncapital financing activities. Capital asset purchases are reported as financing activities rather than investing activities.
