Deserving individuals deserve a leg up. That was Newt Becker's view and it's the philosophy that fuels the Newton D. Becker Scholarship program. We're proud to offer this scholarship to deserving students or accounting professionals who possess the traits important to Newt: high moral character, strong leadership qualities and a commitment to community service. If you're accepted, you'll receive financial assistance to prepare for the CPA Exam.

Are you eligible?

In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must:

  • Be an accounting professional or student not currently enrolled in Becker’s CPA Exam Review at the time of scholarship notification.

  • Meet the requirements to sit for the CPA Exam at the time of enrollment in Becker’s CPA Exam Review.

  • Through a personal statement, demonstrate (1) a financial need in preparing for the CPA Exam and (2) the traits important to Newt Becker – high moral character, strong leadership qualities and a commitment to community service.

  • Provide the name of an employer/manager, professor, community leader or clergy member along with your application that we may contact for as a reference.

  • Be a U.S. resident.

  • Not be currently employed by or have accepted a position at a firm or corporation that reimburses for the CPA Exam Review.

  • Enroll in Becker’s CPA Exam Review by June 30, 2019.

Scholarship is non-transferable

Becker awarded more than $485,000 in CPA Exam Review scholarships.*

This year, Becker will award full scholarships, valued at $3,393 each, to 80 total students.

*Based on total number of scholarships awarded in the 2017 scholarship program. Becker is not responsible for ensuring all scholarships are redeemed.

Must be 18 years or older.  Applicants agree to all terms and conditions and must meet specific qualifications. Scholarships will be awarded beginning April 1 and must be redeemed by June 30, 2019.
