Coefficient of Correlation

In regression analysis, the coefficient of correlation is the square root of the coefficient of determination. It measures the interdependence of the dependent variable and the independent variable. Its value lies between 1 and +1. The absence of correlation would be 0; perfect positive correlation would be +1; and perfect negative correlation would be 1. The algebraic sign of the correlation coefficient is the same as that of the regression coefficient b in the regression line equation.
