Franchise

 

  1. A franchise is the right to operate a particular business under a franchise agreement (license) for a fee. Franchise fees might be initial franchise fees or continuing franchise fees. Both franchisor and franchisee have specialized accounting rules. A license granted by one entity (franchisor) to another entity (franchisee), entitling the franchisee to produce or market a product or service in a specific area, for a specific time.
