Inherent Risk

 

  1. The risk related to the very nature of the activities the company undertakes in the course of business. The auditor's assessment of the likelihood that there are material misstatements in the financial statements before considering the effectiveness of internal controls.
  2. The susceptibility of a relevant assertion to a material misstatement, assuming that there are no related controls.
