Large Stock Dividend

When more than 20 percent to 25 percent of the shares previously issued and outstanding are distributed, a stock dividend is treated as a large stock dividend because the issuance is expected to reduce the market price of the stock (similar to a stock split). See also stock dividend and small stock dividend.
