Nonspendable Fund Balance

Current equity in the fund balance generally comprises available, spendable resources. To the extent that the equity of a governmental fund is represented by current assets that cannot be spent (e.g., prepaid expenses, inventories, etc.), the fund balance should be displayed as nonspendable.
