Operating Segment

For segment reporting, an operating segment is a segment of an enterprise that engages in business activities from which revenues may be earned and in which expenses are incurred, whose operating results are regularly reviewed by the enterprise's chief operating decision maker, and for which discrete financial information is available. See also segment reporting and reportable segment.
