Ensuring our students are fully prepared for their professional exams is our highest priority, and our curriculum team is continually working to provide up-to-date content and comprehensive coverage to EA candidates. Learn about recent updates to the EA Exam Review below as well as the steps we take to make sure our content is fully aligned with the exam.

Updating the EA Exam Review

The Special Enrollment Exam, usually referred to as the EA Exam, runs between May 1 through February 28. Testing is halted from March 1 through April 30 to give the IRS time to update the exam to align with updates to tax law and regulations.

Becker’s curriculum team strives to update the EA Exam Review well before the exam testing opens up to provide candidates with ample time to learn the new guidance and rules. Fortunately, the EA curriculum updates are behind CPA updates, providing our curriculum team with the opportunity to leverage content and guidance already integrated for the CPA Exam.

Between major releases, Becker makes internal updates based on student feedback and analysis of question coverage, though these are not tied to official guidance changes. To maintain transparency in our update process, we are committed to clearly communicating the reasons behind any exam changes.

Recent Updates to Becker's EA Exam

This section will have our most recent updates to the EA Exam Review. Please note that if you are a current student, your progress will be updated in the sections where new content has been added or deleted. For example, if you previously completed 100% of the multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for a section, and new questions were added to this module, you will see your progress adjusted accordingly.

March 2026 Updates

On March 1, 2026, Becker released the most current EA Exam Review course update, based on the tax law changes passed in the One Big Beautiful Bill act and 2025 tax rate updates. The content changes apply to all course resources, including textbooks, slides, concept videos, MCQs, etc. All content now outdated due to these changes has also been removed or rewritten to reflect the new tax law.

This update also includes new printed textbooks and access to 194 all-new MCQs based on the new curriculum updates: 33 new MCQs in Part 1 and 161 new MCQs in Part 3.

Important note: Beginning in the 2026 testing window, the EA Exam will be administered by PSI testing center, rather than Prometric. Likewise, while registration for testing opens May 1, 2026, you can only sit for the exam starting July 1, 2026.  Take advantage of the extra months to prepare with Becker's updated course curriculum!

August 2025 Updates

On August 26, 2025, Becker updated the EA Exam review to remove an MCQ as it was out of scope and revise 27 questions with minor content updates, added explanations, and improve clarity. During this update, we also added a Candidate Guide and a Candidate Information Bulletin provided by Prometric* to the Additional Resources section of the EA Exam Review home page.
