Arkansas CPE requirements
CPAs must complete CPE learning to maintain an active license. Arkansas CPA CPE requirements detail that licensees must complete either 40 hours of CPE per year or 120 hours of CPE over 36 months.
Further stipulations include:
- Four hours of ethics CPE during the 36 months preceding license renewal, including a mandatory one-hour Board-issued ethics course
- For those actively practicing public accounting: 40% of their CPE must come from courses in the areas of accounting, accounting ethics, attestation, or taxation
- For those not actively engaged in public accounting: 20% of their learning must come from courses in the areas of accounting, accounting ethics, attestation, or taxation
- CPAs practicing attest or compilation functions must additionally complete 20% of their CPE in attest and/or accounting theory courses

All CPAs must complete and report their Arkansas CPA CPE requirements, apply for CPA license renewal, and pay the annual application fee by December 31st each year.

Keep up with your progress

Block out time each month
Don’t wait until December to start earning your CPE credits. It’s important to pace yourself so that you have time to plan the courses that interest you and make the most of your learning. We recommend setting aside three to four hours per month for CPE if you are completing the 24-hour requirement, and four to six hours each month if you are completing the 40-hour requirement. This will prevent rushing at the end of the year and give you a cushion in case an unexpected circumstance puts you behind schedule.
