Network Layer (Layer 3)
The layer responsible for routing data packets across different networks and ensuring data reaches its destination. Protocols used in this layer include IP, IPSec, Network Address Translation (NAT), and Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP). See also Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model.
